2020 Awards Organised by Nirdhan NGO dated Sunday, Bhadra 21, 2077

Dr. Harihar Dev Pant 5th Memorial Day which was held on Sunday, Bhadra 21, 2077 (September 6, 2020) through webinar Zoom meeting due to covid 19 pandemic lockdown. In this virtual program, Sambridhiko Marghama Book (Collection of 181 True Women Entrepreneurial Success Stories) inaugurate by the chief guest Mr. Maha Prashad Adhikari, Governor, Nepal Rastra Bank. The event was also attended by Special Guest Mr. Ganesh Bahadur Thapa, former Governor, Nepal Rastra Bank, Special Guest Mr. Rewat Karki, Chairperson, Centre for Micro Finance Nepal.

After the inauguration of book, chief guest  Mr. Maha Prashad  Adhikari, Governor, Nepal Rastra  Bank given his speech regarding the contribution of Dr Harihar Dev Pant in financial access and increasing inclusion for Nepal’s unbanked and under-banked is unmatched. He was truly a great visionary leader, teacher and guardian. His contribution will always be remembered, At last he congratulate all the winners for their successful work and continue their work. On the occasion Special Guest Mr. Ganesh Bahadur Thapa, former NRB governor, described Dr Harihar Dev Pant as being the main initiator in introducing a revolution in the country’s micro finance sector. He was influenced by Mohammad Yunus, a Nobel Prize winner and founder of Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, started providing micro credit services to poor women from Rupandehi district. “He commenced the service by offering micro loans to underprivileged women to run micro enterprises with a goal to make poverty zero.He also claimed the significance of such companies would be even greater now considering the Covid-19 impact on the poor population.On the occasion, Special Guest Mr. Rewat Karki, Chairperson, Centre for Micro Finance Nepal also praised him and his contribution towards the sector of micro finance for the poor as a right guardian “The Father of Micro Finance in Nepal“. 

Eliza Uprety, Journalists from Ratopati.com being awarded with Dr. Harihar Dev Pant Journalism award with cash prize of Rs 50,000 and appreciation letter handed over by Mr. Janardan Dev Pant, Chairman of Dr. Harihar Dev Pant Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of Nirdhan Utthan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited.

Chief Guest Mr. Rom Nath Oli, Mayor of Damak Metropolitan handed over Dr. Harihar Dev Pant Micro Entrepreneurship award with cash prize of Rs 30,000 and appreciate letter to Mrs. Jal Kumari Timsina ( Furniture Udhyog ) from Jhapa District, Province One.

Chief Guest Mr. Gajendra Prasad Patel, Ward Chairman of Parawanipur Rural Municipality handed over Dr. Harihar Dev Pant Micro Entrepreneurship award with cash prize of Rs 30,000 and appreciate letter to Mrs. Mann Kumari Devi (Garment Udhyog) from Bara District, Province Two.
